Cardinal Door Hanger

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you’ll know by now that I have a deep love for cardinals. I have a ‘half-sleeve’ cardinal tattoo that spans my upper shoulder all the way to my elbow and I’m getting a reputation for being the place to come for cardinal crafts — all in honor of my sweet angel in heaven, my daughter, Avalyn.

I face-palmed as I pulled in my driveway today, mere days from New Year’s at the time of posting this, and realizing that the woman who makes signs for a living still had a Thanksgiving wreath on my side entrance door. I took to my computer, made a sign that touched my heart and quickly took off to making two back to back.

These signs are 10.5″ in diameter, a bit taller at the top if accounting for the wooden loop to hang. Each come with twine that is intentionally not too long — here in the Midwest wind is a major consideration and I didn’t want these banging on the door. Each sign also has one black and one white bead.

Each sign is hand-stained, hand-painted and assembled by hand so no two are exactly alike.

The backer is a thick birch wood that is stained gray and there are a total of four layers of material used. A lot of love goes into each and every sign.

Please note, these signs are NOT meant to be exposed directly to the elements. Mine is kept in between my door and a glass storm door. These are also beautiful to be displayed inside the home as well.

Due to the weight, this sign can only be shipped via USPS Priority Mail (good too as this includes tracking and insurance) or if you’re local to Kenosha, WI I offer free local pickup.
