I am a mom of two young sons and am divorced. Thankfully, my ex and I coparent like no other. One of his favorite times of the year is when the boys’ school pictures come in — he has a frame with the wallet sized photos and stacks every photo, one behind the other, and lays them out from kindergarten on up, takes a picture at his desk, and sends it to me. Our oldest is in 7th grade so it’s becoming quite an ordeal. haha.
When in the initial planning stages of this sign, I showed him a sample and he said, “PLEASE make that for me for my next birthday.” (We have a rule that all parent gifts at birthdays and Christmas are handmade, which I LOVE).
So, with my handsome sons as the inspiration, here is my K-12 School Years Frame!
The frame is 10.75″ wide by 14″ tall. The openings for K-11 fit the 2.5″x1.5″ wallet sized photos that you get in school portrait packages and the Senior photo is 3.25″ x 5″. A small piece of double-sided tape or glue can be used to place photos on back layer.
This is designed to be used with special screw posts, also called Chicago screws, so that it can be taken apart to add photos year after year, without hurting the integrity of the frame.
The top layer comes standard in my light wood stain and comes with YOUR CHILD’S NAME with my signature deep engrave. The bottom layer is unstained birch wood, which is stunning!
I highly recommend 3M command strips for hanging should you want to display it on a wall. I also recommend a felt tipped pen for writing in the graduation year.
**Note, due to the variations in wood grain and how individual pieces of wood absorb stain, the color may vary.
This frame is regularly priced at $50, but is currently on sale for just $40!
